New Horizons for Eco-Labels and Sustainability

For the ninth consecutive year, the European edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit was hosted in Amsterdam. Discussions centered on sustainability approaches, true costs, sustainability schemes, food ingredient advances, social impacts, and marketing best-practices. There was a call for food & ingredient firms to go beyond traditional efficiency thinking, as well as greater investment in urban farming. The true cost of food and beverages were examined, with proposed solutions to narrow the gap between sustainable and conventional foods. An update was given on sustainable food ingredients, whilst the various ways of addressing social impacts was also explored. View the summit pictures here

The aim of the Sustainable Foods Summit is to explore new horizons for eco-labels and sustainability in the food industry by discussing key industry issues. Upcoming editions of this international series will take place in São Paulo (18-20 September), Singapore (28-29 November) and San Francisco (18-19 January). More details
